Sarah and I went to high school together. Sarah was always the girl who wan't afraid to fit the "girly-girl" norm. She was proud of being the country girl she was and we all loved that about her.
In 2019 she contacted me to book her wedding and I was so excited she was going to allow me to document her big day. I got to meet her soon to be husband and their daughter at their beautiful farm in Salam for engagement photos. Well before all the craziness of 2020 hit.
Sarah and Joe seriously had the odds against them for their August 2020 wedding. Due to the wording of their contract with their venue they were just about forced to keep their wedding date despite the pandemic. Which meant their Diary Barn reception plans were a no-go. They were disappointed, but went ahead with the tent option for the property.... only to find out that a hurricane would be leaving the area on their big day.
All us vendors were scrambling to get a plan together and to set up with downpours hitting the property on and off. With just moments to go until ceremony time we were trying to come up with a back up plan.. when suddenly 15 minutes before the ceremony it happened! The sky completely cleared! letting the sun come down, but even leaving the perfect amount of shade for their alter. It was truly MAGICAL!
The only thing missing... was the Father of the bride's belt. Her dad lost his pants coming down the aisle, and as you can imagine it was the talk of the night! We even got the groom in on some pants down portraits to go along with it.
They ended up having the most beautiful day despite all the odds against them. I couldn't be happier for them!
